The story behind the symbol

Connected
Emphasis is placed on bridging markets and value chains, as well as connecting supply and demand. Through enhanced collaboration and strategic partnerships, the industry can drive greater alignment and resilience.
Competitive
In a challenging market coupled with a net-zero drive, companies must improve efficiency and compete effectively. The focus is on practical strategies to enhance performance and maintain global competitiveness.
Resilient
Resilience is critical in navigating both economic cycles and long-term structural change. The industry must balance immediate performance with long-term transformation.
OUR HISTORY

From EAPIC to APIC — five decades of Asian cooperation

Founded in 1979 as the East Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference by industry leaders in Korea, Japan and Taiwan, the conference rotated between the three economies to share information, build cooperation and advance the region's petrochemical industry.

As participation grew, membership expanded to seven economies — adding Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and India — and EAPIC became the Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference. In 2027, APIC convenes in Singapore.
